Remember the HERO's

Today in St. Petersburg Florida is a very sad day. At 11:00am, a funueral will start to remember two fallen hero's of St. Pete. SGT. Tom Baitinger and OFC. Jeffrey Yaslowitz. They were killed on Monday while serving a warrant at a home in south (that very bad area). According to police reports, Officer Jeff Yaslowitz, 39, and Sergeant Thomas Baitinger, 48, went to the home to serve Hydra Lacy Jr. with a warrant for his arrest. Lacy was wanted on charges of aggravated battery stemming from domestic violence. The officers, along with a U.S. Marshal, were shot by Lacy, who was hiding in his attic.
Last night was hard for J and I. We live next door the church that they are having the funeral at. Last night all we could hear was helicopters, testing of the sound system, and Police sirens. I actually broke down crying at one point. My heart is breaking for these families! I could not imagine my husband leaving for work and never returning. So I ask that today when you see a cop say Thank You! When you come home to your loves tell them that you love them. And to my blogging family, please pray for the officers family and friends. Thank you and I love y'all!

A little about me...

I saw this on a fellow bloggers blog and had to do this.

How tall are you?
I am 5'4"

Besides bills, what do you spend most of your money on?
Nothing! Jeff and I are on the Dave Ramsey Budget so we can pay off our cars and save money for a house to bring our baby home to! No I am not prego yet, but I am praying for it to happen!

What are your three favorite websites?
blogger. facebook. fox news.

What brand of tennis shoes do you prefer?
I live in FL and do not need to wear tennis shoes that often. But I own New Balance tennis shoes, and I LOVE my Merrell hiking boots.

What food can you absolutely not stand to eat?
Peas. I think they are the nastiest things ever! My momma would make me eat them as a kid. I love all the other veggies out there but she would still make peas every week and I was forced to eat them. (I should have called child abuse a long time age)

How many pairs of jeans do you own?
I only own 2 pairs. I cannot stand jean/ pants. You will see me either in a skirt or dress everyday. And when it is cold out I wear tights and boot to keep my legs warm.

If you could have any job, what would it be?
To be a stay at home momma!

Have you ever ridden in an ambulance?
I have been in one before but it did not take me anywhere in it. When I was in high school we had a outdoor competition and it was so hot that me and three other girls on my team pasted out.

How many pillows do you sleep with?
Two, head and knee!

On a scale of 1-5, how organized are you?
4. sometimes 5.

Dancing in the Minefields

My sweet husband sent this song to me and said this was written for us. I listened to the song and I have to agree!

J and I got engaged when I just turned 20 years old. And he just turned 24 and graduated from college. After he proposed just about everyone (besides my parents, sister and his sister) told me we were to young to get married. That we didn't know if we were really meant for each other. All J and I knew was that God had placed each other together. We have the same beliefs on many different things, and a smile whenever we would see each other. I knew I was his Help Meet. So to make everyone happy we had an engagement for 11 months (we only wanted to be engaged for 4 months). On November 4, 2006 I married my best friend, sould mate, Help Meet, and LOVE. I am so blessed that I found my prince charming at a young age. I am truly spending my life with the perfect husband.

Well I was 19 you were 21
The year we got engaged
Everyone said we were much to young
But we did it anyway
We got the rings for 40 each from a pawnshop down the road
We said our vows and took the leap now 15 years ago

Chorus:
We went dancing in the minefields
We went sailing in the storm
And it was harder than we dreamed
But I believe that’s what the promise is for

Well ‘I do’ are the two most famous last words
The beginning of the end
But to lose your life for another I’ve heard is a good place to begin
Cause the only way to find your life is to lay your own life down
And I believe it’s an easy price for the life that we have found

Chorus:
And we’re dancing in the minefields
We’re sailing in the storm
This is harder than we dreamed
But I believe that’s what the promise is for
That’s what the promise is for

Bridge:
So when I lose my way, find me
When I lose loves chains, bind me
At the end of all my faith
to the end of all my days
when I forget my name, remind me

Cause we bear the light of the son of man
So there’s nothing left to fear
So I’ll walk with you in the shadow lands
Till the shadows disappear
Cause he promised not to leave us
And his promises are true
So in the face of all this chaos baby
I can dance with you

Chorus:
So lets go dancing in the minefields
Lets go sailing in the storms
Oh lets go dancing in the minefields
And kicking down the doors
Oh lets go dancing in the minefields
And sailing in the storms
Oh this is harder than we dreamed
But I believe that’s what the promise is for
That’s what the promise is for

Weekend Recap

This weekend was crazy for J and I.

Friday was my best friend Lindsey's birthday. We celebrated her turning 25 by having a potluck dinner and playing spoons (Our groups favorite game!). Lindsey received 5 new Pandora charms for her bracelet. Sadly J and I had to arrive to her birthday dinner late because J had a Board Meeting that he couldn't get out of. But when we got there we had a blast. We are so blessed to have amazing friends.

Saturday was a very relaxing morning for us. J went to work out and I worked on things for the Etsy site. That night we went to Dans house (BFF's BF) and had dinner and played games. Dan's BFF and is sweet girl friend (Damon and Steph) were there as well. We had so much fun playing Loaded Questions. We were actually laughing so loud that the neighbor asked us to be keep it down. We felt so bad about that. After the third game was over we looked at the clock and realized that is was 2 am! I could not believe how late it had gotten. J and I had a very long drive home so we left.

Sunday we were so tired that we didn't wake up in time for Church, so I made J orange juice and me coffee and we watch Church online. After church was over J went to work out and I cleaned the house. Then we went to another friends house to watch the football game. We had so much fun at R.C. and Erin's house. They have two of the CUTEST kids and we played with them more then watching the game. I can't wait to be blessed with having kids. After the first game was over we decided to head home (long drive). J rented Iron Man 2... it was OK. I don't remember a lot of the first movie, so I didn't really follow it.

That was our weekend recap. I pray that everyone has a wonderful week! God Bless!!!

Friday Questions

1. What is your favorite piece of Jewelry?
My wedding band. Every time I look at it I remember the day that I became Mrs Gable. I remember our ceremony and how much the Lord has truly blessed me.

2. The thing you love the most about your hubby?
Now I could go on forever about the Love of my life, but I will keep it short and simple. I love that he lets me be me! I love that he makes me smile, even when I am upset at him. I love that he loves my family like there were his own blood. I love that he is a true man of God. I love him!

3. What is your biggest pet peeve?
When people are eating out of a yogurt cup and the scraping of the spoon. I can't stand that noise!

4. If you had super powers what would it be?
I think I would want to read everyones thoughts. Kind of like Edward from Twilight (Big dork!). But I would be able to turn my power off whenever I wanted to.

5. What do you love about your best friend(s)?
I have the best grouping of girl friends....
Barby, Lindsey, and Kim... I have been best friends with them sense freshman year of high school. But it did not start out that way :) Lindsey and I met in the 8th grade (and we went to the same church), she thought I was a brat. I only talked to certain people, but I was in a brand new school and a brand new town. Our freshman year we had Chemistry Class and sat next to each other. After talking we became instant friends! Enters Barby, Lindsey and Barby were best friends sense the 2nd grade, so that was a little intimidating. But when Barby and I met it was like two peas in a pod (I love her!). After that we were just always together :) Enters Kim... Kim and I had a ruff start. We were both in band together and for some reason just did not like each other. She was a year younger then I was. After awhile I found out she was good friends with Lindsey... I had no idea that was the same Kim that she was always talking about. We were nice to each other but not really friends, until after I graduated from High School. She was now a senior and I was a freshman in College. After she got out of school, she would meet us at the beach and hang out. I am not sure when it happened but out of nowhere Kim and I just started getting really close. And now she is one of my closets friends. It's funny how life and people change.

Nicole.... Mrs Young and I were Navy Brats together. Our dads was on the same ship and our mommas became best friends/ support systems. In my family it was just Aj and me, Nicole's family was a total of four kids, so when we would get the entire group together it was like one big happy family. We were together a ton, and Nicole was actually our baby sitter. She is only two years older then myself. Her dad retired and moved the family to Louisiana, and my dad retired the Navy and we moved to Florida. Our parents kept in touch but the kids really didn't. About three years ago out of the blue Nicole and I just started emailing each other. We now email or text each other everyday. I know if I EVER need her, she would drop everything to be by my side. I love our friendship and how much it has grown.

Now to answer the question, the thing I love the best about my best friends.... They are all there for me when I need a hand, they make me laugh and feel good about myself, they encourage me and make me a better person. I love these girls with all of my heart and I feel so blessed that they are in my life!

I hope everyone has a wonderful three day weekend. Let me know if you anwser these questions, I would love to read your answers! God Bless!

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

Family Dinner - J and I just started this. We use to eat dinner in the living room and watch a tv show, but now we eat at our table and talk about our day.
Crafting! - I have been working really hard getting things I need to get done for the etsy site that my best friends and I are opening. This is my stress reliever.
Budgeting - We are only on week two of our budget, but it is going great! Every time I want to buy something I just think about my dream home, and I put the object down.
Memory Lane - I am organizing all of our pictures so that I can start scrapbooking again. I just found pictures of a trip that I totally forgot about.
Fawny's new hair cut - I will have to post a picture of it later. She is a persian and loves it when she is shaved, but she looks ridicules until it grows out a bit. I cant look at with her without laughing.

Bridal Shower HELP!

My soon to be sister-in-law wants to do a couple bridal shower... Ok I don't have a problem with that, I think it is a great idea! But she loves the theme of coffee. Jeremy and her LOVE coffee!

So here is where I need your help. Do y'all have any ideas on decorations? Food to serve that would compliment coffee, or any game ideas?

I NEED HELP!

Spokeo - YOU NEED TO READ THIS!

Hey Guys,

I received this from one of my friends who is an attorney regarding this site. I checked it out on Snopes and it appears to be true. I looked myself up on this site and found it listed a TON of information about me. I would check it out and remove yourself if you don’t want this information made public. Snopes gives you the directions on how to remove yourself from this site.

Make sure to pass this along!

My 2011 Resolutions

*Spend Less Money - J and I bought the Dave Ramsey book last week and started a new budget this week. I think this might be a little hard for me (I love to shop and spend money) but the results will be worth it.

*Run my first 5k - J runs in 5k's all the time and I think it would be fun to run with him.

*Buy a new home - One of the many reasons we are on a budget to save money.

*Watch less TV - I am addicted to TV, it is always on when I am home. So my goal is to watch less. Pray for me (I am serious!).

*Start a new Etsy business with my two best friends - We have named it the CraftyLAB (LAB - Lindsey, Amy and Barby) and are really excited about this. I will let you know when we are open for business!

*Scrapbook more - I have a TON of scrapbooking supplies and need to use it. I am not joking when I say a ton. I have 6 of the 16x16 boxes full of stuff and 4 plastic bins of things. Hopefully this will also take my mind of not shopping :)

*Get healthy - since I have been married I have gained 45 pounds. I am so disgusted with myself when I look in the mirror. I am not going to set a weight goal, I just want to be healthy and feel good about myself!

*Pray more - J and I pray together before every meal, but I want to take more time out of my day and pray!

*Spend more time with my sister - We have very different work schedules but I want to see her more often!

I want to win this!!!

Little Miss Momma is have a giveaway. This would go perfect in my house!!! LMM Pick me.

If you want to see more signs visit Barn Owl Primitives store. Wish me LUCK!

New Years Recap

Our weekend started Friday morning with us driving to Lake City. We really wanted to spend the holiday with Jeff's sister and her hubby. When we arrived Carson and Abby were getting picked up to stay the night with there Nana and Papa (Chris's parents). After the kids were gone we hung out with them talking and laughing and then we had to get ready for the big night. Chris is very involved with the Rotary club and will be president next year. Which will be very exciting for them.

Chris and Jenny

We stayed and danced until 1:30 that night. We had so much fun and the food was so good. I can have eaten all night if I was able to!
On Saturday we went to Chris's parents (who I LOVE) for New Years dinner and to watch the Gator game. Chris's parents live on a farm and have horses and cows. They had 5 new cows and 2 were born on Christmas. Sadly I didn't get that many pictures from the day but these will have to do!

Carson was making funny faces.

Abby was so excited that we had cupcakes for dessert and they all had rings on them. She was wearing them around the house, and I told her to say I pity the fool. She is so stinking cute! When we got back to Chris and Jenny's house the kids were put to bed and we stayed up to watch football and play a game called picturicka. I have no idea if i spelled that right. The game was so much fun and I won 2 out of 3 games! I have a photographic memory, and it was used in this game :)

On Sunday we woke up and had breakfast with everyone. Then Jeff and I started driving home. When we got there I started cleaning, unpacking and taking the Christmas decorations down. The house looks so sad now!

I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe New Years!
